Why I'm running
I've been a keen runner for several years and regularly run around Chorleywood Common and at parkruns across the UK. I've previously completed the Milton Keynes and Lisbon marathons, as well as the Thames Path 100 km Ultra.
After missing out on a place in the London Marathon, I started looking for a different challenge. When I discovered the Kyiv Unbroken Marathon, it immediately caught my attention. I was inspired by the resilience of the city and the fact that, despite the ongoing war, the marathon continues to take place.
Running in Kyiv will be a challenge unlike any I've taken on before, and I wanted to make it count for more than just a personal achievement. That's why I'm raising money for CAFUKR, helping to provide practical support to people affected by the war.
